Utah QB Cam Rising exits Baylor game with hand injury
Utah's Cam Rising was the starting quarterback for Saturday's game against Baylor but will finish it on the sidelines in street clothes after injuring his right hand and leaving the game late in the second quarter. The injury reportedly happened after Rising was pushed into a bank of water coolers on the Baylor sideline. He exited the game and was later seen on the sidelines, out of uniform and sporting tape holding together the ring finger and middle finger of his right hand. Los Angeles Chargers wide receiver DJ Chark will miss at least the next four games after being placed on injured reserve on Saturday. Chark had missed the entire week of practice because of a hip injury and already was ruled out of the season opener Sunday against the visiting Las Vegas Raiders. The Denver Broncos announced Saturday that they have elevated wide receiver Lil'Jordan Humphrey and fullback Michael Burton for their Sunday game with the Seattle Seahawks. Humphrey, 26, has a common background with head coach Sean Payton, as the wideout got his start under Payton with the Saints from 2019-21, before playing for the Broncos under Payton last season. He also spent a season (2022) with the New England Patriots. Overall, Humphrey has 31 receptions for 477 yards and six touchdowns over five seasons (41 games). Burton, 32, has played for six teams over nine seasons (20 starts, 130 games), and like Humphrey, is also in his second season with the Broncos.
