AMANDA − Amanda-Clearcreek High School's 2024 Outstanding Senior Aidan Rich faced a challenge most students don't have to face. "I have overcome a lot in my high school career," he said. "I had an autism spectrum diagnosis in primary school, and that's come with some ups and downs. It's definitely made me smarter than I normally would be and helped with my creative inclinations and artistic expression. But it's also held me back quite a bit."
Lancaster's Sherman House Museum buys Gen. William Sherman's Civil War sword at auction
A sword used by Gen. William Tecumseh Sherman during the Civil War was bought at auction for several times the asking price by the Sherman House Museum on Tuesday. Calendar Photo Contest open for ages 50 and older
The Area Agency on Aging, PSA 2, produces a free calendar each year highlighting scenery, people, places, history and more throughout the nine-county region. For the 2025 calendar, the organization hosts a calendar photo contest inviting photographers ages 50 and older who live in the nine-county region (Logan, Champaign, Clark, Darke, Greene, Miami, Montgomery, Preble, and Shelby counties) to submit photos.
Local students’ artwork displayed at Airstream HQ
Entries from the Urban Art Fair, created by fifth- and sixth-grade art students at Logan-Hocking Middle School, are currently on display in the visitor’s center of the Airstream World Headquarters in Jackson Center, Ohio, and will be until June 30. Urban Air’s annual “Wake Up Downtown Logan” event, which took place in Logan May 2–4, included an art competition for local students. Their drawings were displayed in downtown storefront windows from April 25-May 3, with the public voting for their favorite entries. A panel of professional artists also judged the top entries and awarded prizes.
