City Council completes hiring of Police Consultant
Circleville City Council discussed the hiring process for a new police chief, authorized a contract to hire a police consultant, and heard from Rob Ware, the new Director of Public Safety. During Tuesday’s meeting, Mayor Michelle Blanton announced that the Ohio Association of Chiefs of Police has completed their assessment of the applicants for the open Chief of Police position. Circleville Police are investigating an ethics and harassment complaint against Acting Deputy Police Chief Jon Farrelly based on allegations that he tried to solicit sex a woman while he was in uniform. A Westfall Middle School educator was charged with a 1st degree misdemeanor for disseminating pornographic/obscene materials to a juvenile. Tiffany Haughey, 42, of Chillicothe, allegedly sent pornographic photos of herself to one of her students because he was her “favorite” according to the criminal complaint.
