Fatal Traffic Collision
On September 24, 2023, at 1:53 a.m., deputies assigned to the Lake Elsinore Sheriff’s Station responded to a major injury traffic collision on Canyon Lake Drive S and Continental Drive in the city of Canyon Lake. Deputies and Cal Fire personnel arrived within minutes and located a single-vehicle collision with the driver trapped. Cal Fire personnel extricated the driver and provided medical aid. The driver was pronounced deceased at the scene by Cal Fire personnel. The Lake Elsinore Station’s Traffic Unit assumed the investigation. The driver’s name is being withheld pending next of kin notification.
