LANSING — Lansing Shuffle unveiled its long-awaited shuffleboard courts this week, more than a year after the venue opened its doors.

The five courts at the food hall and entertainment venue in the former Lansing City Market building will officially be available for reservations beginning Friday, said Jonathan Hartzell, developer and director of acquisitions and programming at Detroit Rising, the Livonia-based firm behind Lansing Shuffle.

The facility is allowing walk-on play this week on a first-come, first-served basis, he said.

The courts have been under construction at 325 Riverfront Drive since Lansing Shuffle opened to the public in early 2023.

“We just got slowed down by delays,” Hartzell said.

The shuffleboard courts will be enclosed and heated in the winter and open during the warmer months of the year. A bar at the rear of the food hall will open up to the courts. Players will be able to order drinks there without entering the food hall.

Two teams consisting of between four and eight people can utilize each court lane, Hartzell said. According to Lansing Shuffle's website, courts can be booked one hour at a time.

Lansing Shuffle will host league nights and offer special pricing for shuffleboard.

Details for reserving a court can be found online at www.lansingshuffle.com.

The venue is already home to seven restaurants: Kin Thai, Browndog at the Shuffle, Irie Smoke Shack, Osteria Vegana and Yeti Kitchen opened in January 2023; Takitos AF and Beirut Kitchen, opened earlier this year.
