    Lanett police investigating after man shot in the back

    LANETT, Ala. (WRBL) – A man was shot on the back Tuesday afternoon according to Lanett investigators. Police responded to the shooting around 1:39 PM in the 1200 block of 1st Street.

    According to authorities, the victim, a male, was found with a gunshot wound to the back. Emergency Medical Services (EMS) provided immediate treatment, and the victim was airlifted to a regional trauma center. Fortunately, the injuries were later determined to be non-life-threatening.

    During the investigation, law enforcement discovered a residence in the 1300 block of 1st Street had also been struck by gunfire. Thankfully, none of the occupants inside the home sustained any injuries.

    The Lanett Police Department’s detectives are actively investigating the incident. They urge anyone with information related to the shooting to come forward and assist with the investigation.
