LANCASTER, Wis. -- A 58-year-old Prairie du Chien woman sustained injuries after striking a trailer attached to a semi truck Monday afternoon in Lancaster.

The Grant County Sheriff's Office were dispatched at 12:45 where police say the woman was traveling south on US Highway 61 in a 2018 Chevy Equinox and was approaching the roundabout. A 48-year-old man was traveling north on US 61 in a 2017 Freightliner semi, pulling a flatbed trailer, and was stopped at the yield sign at the roundabout.

Officials say the woman failed to yield at the roundabout, traveling south across the right side of the center divider of the roundabout and went over the curb on the divider striking a road sign and striking the trailer the man had attached to his semi.

The woman was removed from the vehicle by Lancaster Fire Department and was transported to Grant Regional Health Center.

The Grant County's Sheriff's Office was assisted at the scene by Lancaster EMS, Lancaster Fire Department, and Bennett's Auto and Towing.

Police say the woman was issued a citation for Failure to Keep Vehicle Under Control.
