Track and field: Lakeside boys claim 9 events, win Lutheran Invitational; girls 3rd

APPLETON — Lakeside Lutheran’s boys won the Lutheran Invitational (LIT) on Friday at Fox Valley Lutheran High School.

The Warriors scored 157 points, comfortably beating out runner-up Winnebago Lutheran Academy (120.5).

Junior Ben Krauklis won the 100 meter dash in 11.18 seconds and the 200 in 22.51. Senior Alex Reinke was second in the 200 in 22.72.

Senior Daniel Ertman won the 400 in 50.93 while freshman Jack Thiele took third in 54.01. Senior Karsten Grundahl won the 1,600 in a personal best time of 4:29.13.

Senior Cameron Weiland won the 3,200 in a PR time of 9:29.37 and senior Gideon Ewerdt also ran a PR, finishing third in 10:01.06.

Senior Joey Dretske was second in the 110 high hurdles in 16.97 and third in the 300 hurdles in 44.86.

The 800 relay team of juniors Issiah Sampon and Tyler Dahlie, Reinke and Krauklis won in 1:29.93.

The 1,600 relay team of Dahlie, Reinke, Ertman and Grundahl won in 3:28.14. The 3,200 relay team of Thiele, Ewerdt, junior Will Hemling and Weiland won in 8:26.55.

Dahlie won the high jump (6 feet, 2 inches). Junior Nolan Schweighardt took third in the pole vault (12-6).

Lakeside Lutheran’s girls were fourth with 98.5 points.

The 800 relay team of sophomore Sophia Rhyner, freshman Taryn Jobke and juniors Ella Schuetz and Cecilia Krahn finished second in 1:49.82. The 3,200 relay team of sophomore Molly Wiedenfeld, freshman Natalie Schultz, senior Paige Krahn and junior Ashley Rosenau took third in 11:04.55.

Senior Brielle Leis placed second in the discus (96-9). Schuetz was third in the high jump (4-8).
