    Track and field: Lake Mills boys 12th at Deerfield Classic

    DEERFIELD — Lake Mills’ boys track and field team finished 12th at the Deerfield Classic on Friday, May 3.

    The L-Cats scored 26 points.

    Junior Mason Fuglestad placed third in the long jump with a personal best leap of 20-1.

    Junior Tommy Cassady was fourth in the shot put (45-8).

    Junior Braxton Walter was sixth in the 3,200 in 11:08.47, sophomore Max Springer was seventh in the 400 in 55.67 and senior Jack Phillips was eighth in the 800 in 2:08.28.

    Freshman Dylan Brinkmann was seventh in the long jump (19-3 1/2).

    In girls competition, senior Ava Vesperman was fifth in the 400 in 1:04.85 and took eighth in the 800 in 2:39.95.

    Senior Kate Gero took eighth in the 100 hurdles in 18.12.

    Lake Mills competes in the Dana Waddell Invite at Marshall on Wednesday.
