Wanted Lake City man arrested by U.S. Marshals for kidnapping, attempted murder

LAKE CITY, S.C. (WBTW) – A Lake City man was apprehended by the U.S. Marshals Regional Fugitive Task Force Monday and charged with a dozen crimes stemming from a kidnapping and attempted murder incident that occurred April 24, the Lake City Police Department said.

Etheran Tierral Manigault was apprehended along with assistance from the S.C. Law Enforcement Division and a K-9 officer, police said.

Manigault is charged with two counts of attempted murder, two counts of kidnapping, armed robbery with a deadly weapon, two counts of pointing and presenting firearms at a person, two counts of possession of a weapon during a violent crime, first-degree burglary, petit larceny of $2,000 or less, malicious injury to personal property at $2,000 or less.

On April 24, Lake City police responded to an incident that occurred shortly after midnight. Manigault, who already fled the scene, was identified as the suspect in the alleged kidnapping and attempted murder of two people, police said.

The police department followed standard procedure when arresting potentially violent suspects and reached out to the U.S. Marshals for assistance in serving the felony arrest warrants, police said.

Manigault is currently at the Florence County Detention Center with no bond on all but two charges. His remaining charges each carry a $2,125 surety bond, police said.
