    Four-vehicle crash sends five to hospital, one via EastCare

    LA GRANGE, N.C. (WNCT) — A four-vehicle accident slowed traffic Monday afternoon on a major Lenoir County roadway.

    Five people were injured, one who was sent to ECU Health Medical Center in Greenville via EastCare.

    Lenoir County Public Information Officer Bryan Hanks said the crash happened just before 2:30 p.m. Fire and EMS units were dispatched to the intersection of Jim Sutton Road and U.S. 70 West in the Little Baltimore section of La Grange.

    Four additional patients were transported by EMS to UNC Health Lenoir in Kinston with minor injuries.

    Responding agencies included the N.C. State Highway Patrol, La Grange Volunteer Fire Department, Lenoir County EMS and the Lenoir County Sheriff’s Office.

    The N.C. State Highway Patrol is investigating the crash.
