IMESD Announces 2024 Crystal Apple Award Winners
LA GRANDE AND PENDLETON – (Release from the IMESD) The InterMountain Education Service District (IMESD) and its component school districts are proud to announce the winners of the 2024 Crystal Apple “Excellence in Education” Awards. A total of 47 Crystal Apples will be presented in early May to deserving education staff in eastern Oregon.

Friends of the Children looks to bring mentorship to the youth of Union County

Friends of the Children is a national nonprofit organization that works to end generational poverty by providing professional mentors to children, particularly those who face multiple systemic obstacles, from the time they are in kindergarten through high school graduation, according to Chief Expansion Officer Angela Groves.

LA GRANDE — Grande Ronde Hospital was recently recognized for its century-long membership in the American Hospital Association, according to a press release from GRH. City of Union Cleanup day scheduled for May 11

Imbler Track Committee Golden Gala raises over $100,000 in a single night
IMBLER – One barn, 100 tickets, one mission, one incredibly dedicated team, and one equally dedicated community. That is what it took to raise over one hundred thousand dollars during one evening of dinner and auctioning. In a single night, the Imbler community pushed the project passed half of the total funds needed to construct a state of the art eight lane track for their school.

La GRANDE — Eastern Oregon University was among the honorees at an awards ceremony held in Oregon following the Governor’s State Employees Food Drive earlier this month. The ceremony, which took place to recognize the contributions of various state agencies and universities, highlighted Eastern Oregon University's participation in this year's food drive. The university was awarded second place for Most Meals Per Employee.
