    May 10, 2024 Evening Forecast

WHAT WE ARE TRACKING: After some late afternoon/evening showers and thunderstorms diminished, dry conditions are in store for Saturday and most of Mother's Day (minus some late afternoon showers or t-storms).

NEXT 24 HRS: Most of the showers or thunderstorms should diminish around 10 pm or earlier before the skies become clear. This sets up a pretty opportunity for viewing the northern lights, which should peak in intensity near or a few hours after midnight. Temperatures fall into the middle 40s to lower 50s. Mostly sunny skies are expected on Saturday, with temperatures rising into the middle 60s to lower 70s. More clouds Saturday night will lead to temperatures only dropping into the middle to upper 50s.

LOOKING AHEAD: Milder temperatures on Mother's Day (upper 70s to low 80s). Unfortunately, another weak system brings shower or thunderstorm chances by Mother's Day afternoon. Several more systems bring daily shower chances late Tuesday through the weekend. The wettest period as of now looks to be Wednesday night through Thursday, although we are not expecting any all-day or all-night rain events. Overall, high temperatures through the week (and the following weekend) will be close to normal for this time of the year (upper 60s to lower 70s). Dry conditions return for the first part of the following week. High temperatures remain near seasonable norms (upper 60s to middle 70s).
