Downtown Storefronts Vandalized

LA CROSSE (WKBT) -- Vandals broke the display windows of multiple businesses in downtown La Crosse early Saturday morning. Jose Vargas, is a bussiness partner of the White Buffalo Thriftery on Main street. He told News 8 Now he was awakened by the a phone call from the La Crosse Police Department, saying the windows of the business were broken out around 1:45 a.m. Officers found another broken display window a block south of the White Buffalo Thriftery at the Scenic Center building on 5th Ave.

Jose says he's hoping whoever committed the vandalism steps forward.

'Ultimately it would be nice to see whoever did do the damage to the window just to come and apologize and maybe help us clean it up", said Vargas.

"If they don't, the police department's just gonna, they will do their job and make sure that they find what happens and go from there."

The owners say that if someone takes accountability for the damage, they would be happy to settle things outside of court.

The business will remain open despite the damage.

No word of any arrests, so far.
