Two injured when car crashes into West Knoxville veterinary center

KNOXVILLE, Tenn. (WATE) — Two people suffered minor injuries when a car crashed through an entrance of a West Knoxville veterinary center and struck the reception desk on Monday. A preliminary report indicates that the driver lost consciousness before the crash.

Knox County deputies arrived at Embassy Veterinary Center on Westland Drive at 5:15 p.m. where a car had crashed into the front of the business.

According to a preliminary report, the driver was turning off Westland Drive when she suffered a medical issue, lost her vision, and lost consciousness before the crash.

The driver was transported to Turkey Creek Medical Center with suspected minor injuries. One person who was in the building at the time of the crash also suffered minor injuries and told investigators she was going to the hospital in a privately-owned vehicle.
