A Knoxville man was arrested after allegedly running from Blount County Sheriff’s deputies multiple times.

Deputies responded to a call on April 15 about a domestic disturbance. On arrival, they spoke with a 78-year-old Maryville man who told deputies that Roger White, 35, was in an argument with Danielle Rickard, 34, North Wildwood Road, Maryville.

Deputies reported that they told the man to open the door, “fearing for her safety.”

According to the report, White and Rickard started to flee once the door was unlocked. Deputies reported that they gave several commands to stop and threatened to deploy their Taser.

Rickard stopped while White continued to run into a wooded area. Deputies said they attempted to follow White but lost sight of him. When deputies returned to the house, they found Rickard had fled the scene.

Later that day, deputies responded to a call about a suspicious person. On arrival, they spoke with Rickard, who allegedly told deputies that White instructed her to run from the deputies and “she was afraid he would kill her and no matter where she went he would find her.”

Rickard was arrested and charged with evading arrest. She was being held in lieu of a $3,500 bond pending a 1:30 p.m. April 22 hearing.

The next day, April 16, deputies responded to a call that a suspect matching White’s description was attempting to break into a residence in the area of Nails Creek Road

According to the report, deputies determined the suspect was White. They reported that because White fled from deputies multiple times, they set a perimeter and brought in K-9s to search the area.

Deputies stated that when White was located, he allegedly began to flee again but was eventually arrested after a “brief foot pursuit.”

White was arrested and charged with domestic assault, evading arrest and burglary. He was being held in lieu of bonds totaling $27,500 pending a 9 a.m. April 25 hearing.
