Knoxville welcomes around 150 new US citizens during naturalization ceremony
KNOXVILLE, Tenn. — Around 150 East Tennesseans are officially U.S. citizens as of Friday, after a naturalization ceremony welcomed them to the country in downtown Knoxville. The ceremony was held Friday morning in the Knoxville City-County Building. The applicants came from 50 different countries across the world and as U.S. citizens they can apply for a passport, register to vote and sponsor other family members to move in.

Proposed gas station development in Concord area raises concerns among some neighbors, while Knox Co. works to address concerns

Knoxville's July 4 fireworks show and family fun fest for 2024 is at World's Fair Park
Knoxville is hosting its annual Festival on the 4th, a family-friendly event from 5-10 p.m. July 4. Attendees can head to World's Fair Park downtown to participate in water wars, axe-throwing, mini-golf and ride paddle boats. There will be food vendors on both of the park lawns and, of course, fireworks.
Report: Knox County traffic deaths up 35% compared to 2022.
KNOX COUNTY, Tenn. — New statistics from the Knox County Regional Forensics Center show a dangerous trend of traffic-related deaths. In 2022, the report said 100 people died on Knox County roads. In 2023, that number rose by around 35% to 135 people, making it the largest increase among causes of death, the report states.
