Cedarcreek Craft Fair and Farmers Market has something for everyone
An annual event in Cedarcreek helps raise funds for the volunteer fire department. The Cedarcreek Craft Fair and Farmers Market will be held Saturday, May 25, from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., at the Cedarcreek Fire Station. The event promises a little something for everyone, according to their Facebook event page. Hosted by the Friends of Cedarcreek Fire Department, the annual event will offer baby chicks to handcrafted jewelry and a chance to get out and socialize.

The Hollister School District recently recognized students, teacher and staff member for the month of May at a Board of Education meeting. Area students receive inaugural scholarship fund
Four area high school students are receiving some extra help with their continuing education, thanks to a local organization sympathetic towards emergency services fields. The Carter Family Hero Scholarship Fund awarded two students from Branson High School and two students from Forsyth High School with scholarships in the amount of $500 each, totalling $2000 for the organization’s first year of sponsorship. The two Branson students who received scholarships were Thomas Mutarelli and Megan Roebuck. The two Forsyth students who received scholarships were Lindsey Essary and Sydney Hart. According to Darin Carter, namesake of the scholarship fund, three of the students are dependents of first responders and one has proven to have a desire to attend the Drury Criminal Justice Program.
Hollister Chamber rolls out campaign to finance building
The Hollister Area Chamber of Commerce is implementing a Capital Campaign in order to replace the funds used to purchase the building it is currently housed in. HACC Executive Director John Hagey said through the White River Grant Foundation, the chamber was able to put twenty percent down on the purchase of the building. With the Capital Campaign, the chamber can make improvements to the building and replace the capital initially put down for the purchase.
C of O hosts annual Doc Good Day
College of the Ozarks students recently participated in its annual service day, named after former college president, R.M. Good. The 15th Annual Doc Good Day, hosted by The Alumni Association of College of the Ozarks, took place on Saturday, May 4. More than 150 volunteers served during the event to give back to the college, which has benefited thousands of students with a debt-free education in its existence. Twenty teams completed several work projects including the replanting of trees, spreading mulch on campus flower beds, landscaping driveways, and painting.
