NYPD officers fatally shot an “emotionally disturbed” man who charged at them with two knives in Brooklyn early Sunday morning, cops said. The officers were at a domestic violence call in the Bushwick neighborhood when the man tapped on their car window to get their attention, police said at a press conference. After stepping out of the vehicle, the officers saw the 26-year-old wielding two knives, and after being unsuccessful with vocal commands, deployed their tasers. Baby falcons hatch atop Verrazzano-Narrows Bridge; MTA shares adorable photos
STATEN ISLAND, N.Y. — The MTA Bridges and Tunnels recently announced that three peregrine falcon chicks have been hatched on the Verrazano-Narrows Bridge. According to an MTA release, the chicks have joined their mother in the specially built nesting box atop the 693-foot Brooklyn Tower, and have been “banded for wildlife monitoring.”

Cops responded to a burglary in progress at 65 Adelphi Street around 5:30 a.m. when they found three men inside and a “large quantity of marijuana and THC products,” police said.
