The State Meet is Coming up Fast for the Quick Cyclones Track Team
(Harlan, IA) – Last week’s state-qualifying meet was a great success for the Harlan girl’s track and field team. The girls came into the meet with goals to make it to state of course, but also break their personal records and go out and compete to the top of their level. Head Coach Jenny Hamilton was more than proud of the effort that her girls displayed last Thursday and is looking forward to seeing what some of her girls will do at the state level.
The Audubon Wheelers are Ready to Race at the State Track and Field Meet
(Audubon, IA) – The Audubon Wheelers are having quite a few athletes head down to Des Moines tomorrow for the state track and field meet at Drake Stadium. Just last week, Audubon went into the state-qualifying meet looking to get at least six state-qualifying events and with their persistence, they were able to do just that. Head Coach Tony Konkler was more than pleased with his boys to more than double the number of state qualifiers this season.

Final Results from Class 1A Regional Final as BCLUW Earns Team Victory
(Anita, IA) – At the Crestwood Hills golf course in Anita, multiple local girls got their ticket to the state tournament. Winning overall as a team was BCLUW who shot a 378 overall in first while Newell-Fonda shot a 397. Sidney was able to finish in third while shooting a 410, Mount Ayr was able to earn fourth with a 416, and St. Albert shot a team score of 424 in fifth. Coming in sixth was Riverside with 458 and ACGC finished with 511.
Gilbert Wins Class 3A Girl’s Region 2 Golf Tournament: Nevada Second (Atlantic Fourth)
(Atlantic) Eden Lohrbach shot a one under par 68 to lead Gilbert to the Class 3A Region 2 Girl’s Golf Tournament title on Wednesday at the Nisha Hills Golf Course in Atlantic. Gilbert shot 299. Nevada advanced to the State Tournament with a runner-up score of 348. Sergent Bluff-Luton finished third with 368, and Atlantic fourth with 370.

CAM School Board Approves Certified and Non-Certified Contracts
(Anita) The CAM School Board has approved the next year’s certified and non-certified teaching contracts. Superintendent of Schools Paul Croghan says that with the new laws increasing the minimum salaries for teachers’ wages, the district is fortunate to give the teaching staff a $7.650.00 raise and a $1.00 per hour increase to non-certified employees. He says the total package increase, including administrators, is 9.05 percent, and with the teacher and extra duty wages, it is 13.3 percent.
