Widespread Frost or Freeze Conditions Expected Across WNY
It will get cold enough Saturday night to support a widespread frost or freeze away from the immediate lake shores in Western New York, according to the National Weather Service in Buffalo. Low temperatures are expected to hit the low to mid 30s along the lake plains, while the valleys of the Southern Tier could see the mercury bottom out in the mid to upper 20s. No advisories or warnings have been issued for the western Southern Tier because the growing season has ended, but residents who have cold-sensitive plants that they wish to keep a little longer should be protected or brought inside if possible.
