Chiefs Kicker Harrison Butker Made Several Conservative Remarks — His Wife Hasn't Commented

Following their win at Super Bowl LVIII, the Kansas City Chiefs seem to be falling from grace hard. In late March 2024 , wide receiver Rashee Rice was involved in a high-speed crash that resulted in several injuries. Dash cam footage revealed that he and the occupants of his vehicle fled the scene without providing information or checking on the injured. Reportedly, he has since turned himself in.

But while a traffic accident can be chalked up to sheer negligence, Harrison Butker seems to be entirely at fault for his own controversies.

The appointed "Butt Kicker" of the Chiefs may have broken records for the team, but he has also invited plenty of backlash thanks to his public and highly-problematic remarks. Between 2022 and 2024, Butker has spoken at length about his political and religious beliefs, which have been derided by critics as anti-Semitic, LGBTQ+ -phobic, and wildly sexist. Harrison Butker's wife, Isabelle, has no words for her husband's controversy. Literally.

For the most part, Harrison's family has kept their personal lives out of the spotlight. However, there's plenty that we know about his wife. He's married to Isabelle Butker (née Tehrani). According to a report by Us Weekly , the two of them met as high school sweethearts in April 2013. They would later get married in 2018 and seem to have been together ever since.

In a 2022 interview with the Unrivaled podcast , Isabelle revealed that she was raised Protestant, but Harrison had prayed at length for her to convert to Catholicism. She eventually did and was hailed by the podcast hosts as "a walking testimony of how tradition is truly making a comeback even amongst millennials."

That said, she has remained remarkably silent on her husband's remarks on "traditional" family structures in which Harrison touts his sexism in full force.

Harrison Butker used his wife and kids to rail against other demographics in a college commencement speech.

Harrison currently has two kids with Isabelle, and they've even made brief public appearances during his football victories. However, he has since used his family as a platform to tout his conservative beliefs, which were made much more prominent in 2024.

In May 2024, the Super Bowl champion gave a commencement speech at Benedictine College — a private school 60 miles north of Kansas City. According to outlets like The Associated Press , his address was riddled with right-wing and sexist rhetoric.

Harrison spoke out against "dangerous gender ideologies" as Pride Month approaches and was especially adamant in his belief that women should strive to be homemakers above all else.

"I think it is you, the women, who have had the most diabolic lies told to you," Harrison stated, reported by AP. "Some of you may go on to lead successful careers in the world, but I would venture to guess that the majority of you are most excited about your marriage and the children you will bring into this world."

He continued, referenced his own family, and said, "I can tell you that my beautiful wife Isabelle would be the first to say her life truly started when she started living her vocation as a wife and as a mother."

Butker has since come under fire for his remarks, which also included hate speech against the Jewish community. In the past, Butker has also received backlash for his pro-life advocacy and his stance on gun rights in the United States.

Although Butker boldly claimed that he could speak for his wife, Isabelle herself hasn't commented publicly on his speech as of this writing. Interestingly, however, many of Harrison's romantic Instagram posts involving Isabelle seem to have been taken down.
