KANSAS CITY, Mo. — Six years after a little boy was given up on after being struck by a car, he’s still here and has a story to share.

Now 12-years-old, Micah Paige’s parents say he’s their miracle baby.

Even when the doctors said there wasn’t a chance, he and his parents just would not accept that, and their faith paid off.

“I thank God for life,” Micha said.

At the time he was just 6-years-old, running to the park with his little cousins and his uncle, when his life was upended.

Micah was hit by a car, that car sending him up in the air . He would then land headfirst into the windshield, the force popped him back up and he landed in the yard.

He would go to the hospital and his parents would receive a grim prognosis.

“There’s one thing I remember, the doctors telling me and my husband to prepare for a funeral,” his mom, Shayla Brown said.

He had suffered a traumatic brain injury, his lungs were severely damaged, his head swollen to the point he was unrecognizable.

Micah’s heart stopped and most of his brain activity had ceased, doctors would pronounce Micah dead. As his mom would say though “But God.”

“I trust God, OK Lord, yes Lord, I said no matter what God, I trust you, I said I trust you, I said I trust you for a miracle,” Shayla Brown said.

A miracle is what they got after two weeks on 100% life support. Micah was moved from the ICU to the rehab floor.

Micah Paige would indeed live, live to share his story.

“Trust God even when it sounds bad, no matter what, trust God, because a miracle will come your way,” Micah said.

The driver was not charged in this case, it was truly an accident. Micah still six years later is recovering from that terrible accident, but just like any other kid, he goes to school. Still has homework that he doesn’t want to do.

As we finished up the interview he told FOX4 he’s glad he was the one hit and not his little cousins, if that tells you anything about this remarkable now 12-year-old.
