Travis Kelce and the Kansas City Chiefs are leaving no doubts about their commitment to each other.

Kelce has agreed to a new two-year contract with the Chiefs that will make him the highest-paid tight end in the NFL, according to Ian Rapoport of NFL Network. Terms of the deal were not immediately disclosed.

The new deal clearly contains a significant raise. Previously, Kelce was the fourth-richest tight end in the game in terms of average annual value, trailing behind Darren Waller’s $17 million AAV. He had two years remaining on his previous deal and would have carried a cap hit just north of $15.4 million into 2024, so one would imagine his salary has been bumped up by a few million dollars.

The 34-year-old tight end is coming off his worst statistical season in years, as he failed to crack the 1,000-yard receiving mark for the first time since 2015 while battling injuries. However, he contributed 32 catches for 355 yards and three touchdowns in four playoff games, demonstrating that he still has something left in the tank.

Interestingly, Kelce once said he was fine being underpaid as long as he remained in a winning situation. Now he can have it both ways.
