Last week a jury was seated in the Samantha Bevans First Degree Murder trial for the murder of her stepmother, Jodie Bevans. Following a week of testimony from family members all speaking to the kindness of Jodie in extending a second chance opportunity to Samantha, moving her back home in hopes of changing her life and making it better, the family also had to testify to the terrible mistake that was. Just a glimpse into the kindness that Jodie had extended to Samantha, in some of Samantha's own words made it abundantly clear to the jury that Jodie went above and beyond to help her stepdaughter. In her stepdaughter's own words, she was kind and nurturing. She was also the victim of a sinister plot by the same stepdaughter.

Warsaw woman arrested at work after special needs son found wandering around neighborhood
WARSAW, Ill. — A Warsaw woman is facing child abandonment and child endangerment charges after an incident on Tuesday. The Hancock County Sheriff’s Department received a report at approximately 6:57 p.m. Tuesday, May 14 of a young boy with special needs wandering the neighborhood near Sixth and Jackson in Warsaw. The young boy was found by a neighbor after he had tried to enter another neighbor’s home. The boy was found in an unsanitary state. The caller discovered, and then reported, that the boy’s mother was not at home.
