FARGO- The Cardinal softball team continued play in Midseason Madness IV on Saturday, dropping games to Washburn and De-Lacs Burlington/Lewis & Clark. Maara Kutz had two hits and scored two runs, Brynn Smith had an RBI but Washburn picked up the 8-5 win. Kutz also tossed a complete game, allowing just five hits while punching out a career-high 11.

The North Dakota Stockmen’s Association (NDSA) will be hosting its 2024 Spring Roundup series, “Swing for the Fences,” June 3, 5, 6, 10, 11 and 12 in Golden Valley, Watford City, Crosby, Strasburg, Cooperstown and Havana, N.D. The Spring Roundups serve as the organization’s district meetings and will include socials, suppers, informational programs, NDSA Nominating Committee meetings and local brand inspector meetings.

FARGO- A furious seventh inning rally came up two bases short as the Cardinal Softball team fell to Harvey Wells County 9-8 on Friday in Fargo’s Midseason Madness IV. Bailey Ness had two triples, a run and three RBI in defeat while Ella Volk finished a home run shy of the cycle with an RBI and Lauren Hendrickson had three hits, scored twice and drove home a run in the loss.

COOPERSTOWN, N.D. (Valley News Live) - A man in Cooperstown has been arrested and is accused of assaulting a woman at a home earlier this week. The Griggs County Sheriff’s Office responded after a 911 call from Richard Sutcliffe on Tuesday, April 23. He told the dispatcher that a woman shot at him. However, according to court records, dispatchers report hearing a woman in the background screaming “get off me” and Sutcliffe telling her “stop resisting, stop kicking me, don’t get up.”
