Big Rig Night Saturday at the Jamestown Speedway
JAMESTOWN, N.D. (NewsDakota.com/Jamestown Speedway) – The Jamestown Speedway was back in action on Saturday, June 3rd for the second time in the 2023 season presented by Dakota Trophy. The weather was warm and a few showers were surrounding the track before race time. However, the races got in with no rain and there was a lot of very good racing and tons of hard-fought battles throughout the night. Overall, it was a great night to be back at the track for racing and in total, we had 83 cars in the pits to do battle on Saturday Night.
JRMC Receives Two Prestigious Awards
JAMESTOWN, N.D. (JRMC) – Jamestown Regional Medical Center (JRMC) is proud two receive not one but two nationwide awards. Jamestown Regional Medical Center (JRMC) received two prestigious awards this spring. The National Rural Health Association named the medical center a “Top 20 Critical Access Hospital” for the fourth consecutive year. Also this year, Modern Healthcare recognized JRMC as one of the industry’s Best Places to Work – for the sixth time since 2017.
Wahpeton finishes third at state tournament
The Wahpeton baseball team won their third-place game against Jamestown by score of 6-3 to claim their best finish at the North Dakota State Baseball Tournament in school history. Caden Hockert went the distance on the hill, holding Jamestown to five hits, three earned runs while striking out four batters.

FARGO, ND. (NewsDakota.com) – The Jamestown High School softball season came to a close on Saturday afternoon at the state tournament as the Blue Jays fell to West Fargo Sheyenne, 7-6. Sheyenne jumped in front 3-0 after the first two innings of play and led 4-0 going into the bottom of the fifth. Makenna Nold drove in the first two runs for Jamestown in the fifth, doubling into the gap in left-center, scoring Jada Walter and Katie Falk.

Five buildings destroyed in farmstead fire near Ypsilanti
YPSILANTI, N.D. (Valley News Live/NewsDakota.com) - Five buildings were destroyed after a fire at a farmstead near Ypsilanti, North Dakota Monday night. Blue Jay golf gets back to State, finishes fourth at WDA meet
Jun. 1—DICKINSON — For the first time since 2019, the Jamestown High School boys golf team is heading back to the state tournament. The Jays wound up placing fourth out of 10 competing teams at Tuesday's WDA Golf Regional with 319 points. Century won its second-straight West Region Tournament title carding a 300. Minot High, St. Mary's, Jamestown, Legacy and Bismarck High also qualified for the Class A team tournament. Century, Minot High, St. Mary's, Legacy and Jamestown all had at least one golf finish in the top 10.
