    Cleanup efforts are underway after this week's storms made their way through the 4 states

    Wednesday Storms – Parts of the four states are dealing with the aftermath of Wednesday's storms. In Miami, several homes suffered severe damage while other parts of the city received only minor damage and downed trees. In Monett Missouri, fallen trees have wreaked havoc, knocking power out throughout the city. Multiple buildings are damaged including McDonald’s and Walmart. City officials are saying the cleanup could take several weeks. As of this time, no injuries have been reported.

    Joplin, MO – Joplin’s school storm shelters opened to the public yesterday afternoon in light of severe storm threat. The storm shelters are set to automatically unlock in any of three circumstances. The doors to storm shelters automatically unlock if a tornado warning is issued anywhere in jasper county, if the Joplin tornado sirens are activated, or if there is an active tornado on the ground or tornado threat in a neighboring county.

    Joplin, MO – Some electric customers in the Joplin area are still dealing with power outages caused by Monday’s storm. Liberty utilities' Facebook page reports that during the height of storm, more than 17-thousand customers did not have power. According to liberty utilities' outage map, 102 customers were still experiencing outages as of 4 pm yesterday.
