La Salle Institute female grads reflect on making history
In 2021, La Salle Institute in Troy made a historic change by allowing female students to enroll for the first time since its founding in 1850. Ten of the around 85 seniors graduating Saturday, May 18 are young women. Screening of ’20 Days in Mariupol’ to support Ukraine
As Russian attacks in Ukraine intensify this week, a fundraiser in the Capital Region tonight brought people together for medical and humanitarian relief. The screening of the academy award winning documentary, "20 days in Mariupol," also sparked discussion of the misinformation war being waged. Dozens of people filled the Ukrainian American Cultural Center in Watervliet for the showing of documentary that won the first Oscar for the Associated Press and their journalists who continued their work in Mariupol as the Ukrainian city came under siege.

Bennington man convicted of federal gun and drug charges
BURLINGTON, Vt. — A man accused of a 2019 murder in Bennington County was convicted in federal court yesterday on three drug and gun charges. Vermont State Police arrested Deven Moffitt in Bennington on June 1, 2022. When he was searched police found over 3,500 bags of fentanyl, bags of cocaine and cocaine base, two loaded guns, and over $16,000 in cash.
Two underage girls shot in Troy
Two underage girls are recovering after a shooting early Sunday morning. It happened just before 1 a.m. on 4th Street near Madison Street. Troy Police are releasing very few details about their investigation but the family of one of the girl’s hurt in the shooting said she is 11. The other girl is allegedly 14.
