BlueHalo expands in Maryland, bringing 200 new jobs
ANNAPOLIS, MD—A defense contractor company is expanding its operations in Maryland and bringing with it 200 new jobs. Governor Wes Moore announced this week that BlueHalo is expanding its facility in Germantown. The move is expected to create 200 new jobs across the company’s three locations in Maryland.
Rohrersville Cornet Band to host spring concert May 19
ROHRERSVILLE — The Rohrersville Cornet Band will be hosting a Spring Concert on Sunday, May 19, at 3 p.m. in its historic 1916 band hall at 4315 Main St., Rohrersville. This event will open the band’s 187th year of providing musical entertainment throughout the tri-state area. As a result of its organization in 1837 by W.C. McCoy, The Rohrersville Band ranks as one of the four longest-surviving community bands in the United States.
SUCCESS students celebrate skills as they move on after graduation
Looking out over a stage full of students she has overseen since November, Elizabeth Rhodes reflected on how grateful she was to get to know each of them. Rhodes, the interim administrator of Frederick County Public Schools’ SUCCESS Program since November, urged students in the ceremony at Frederick Community College to continue to nurture and develop they skills they have developed the past few years at the program.
