Ameren Missouri to upgrade gas meters in Jefferson City

JEFFERSON CITY, Mo. (KMIZ)

Ameren customers in Jefferson City will soon receive upgrades to their gas meters, according to a Monday press release from Ameren.

Ameren plans to install upgraded natural gas modules to existing meters later this spring, the release states. A specific date for when upgrades begin was not announced. Ameren says there is no added for installation or upgrades for meters. Services will not be interrupted.

All 135,000 Ameren Missouri natural gas customers will receive an upgraded natural gas module within the next year, the release states. Installations began in November for Columbia customers and February for Mexico customers. The majority of installations in the mid-Missouri area should be completed by the summer, the release says.
