Looking decent to close the week and head into the weekend
BURLINGTON, Vt. (WCAX) - Happy Thursday! For the most part, the rain from yesterday is gone and out of here. As expected, most places received about 0.5″ to 1″ of new rain with a few areas locally higher or slightly lower. Into the rest of our day, sunshine is emerging for this afternoon, as high temperatures climb back into the mid and upper 70s. A few more clouds will roll in tonight as a cold front passes through the area. Overnight lows will fall into the 40s and lower 50s to start Friday.

It’s starting to look like fall!
BURLINGTON, Vt. (WCAX) - We’re exactly two weeks away from the autumnal equinox, or the official start of fall, and it’s already starting to look a bit more fall-like! There are a few pops of color starting to form on the trees and believe it or not, we’re only a few weeks away from the average peak of foliage season for some parts of our region.

Mostly cloudy skies and isolated showers are likely to start the day before we make some slow improvements throughout the afternoon. Make it a point to leave the house with either the rain jacket or umbrella on […]

Tonight will be chilly with patchy dense fog, but Labor Day will be beautiful with plenty of sunshine and warmer temperatures.
BURLINGTON, Vt. (WCAX) - It was an excellent day for the final day of the Champlain Valley Fair this year. Tonight will be mainly clear and chilly with lows in the 40s to low 50s. A few of the colder valleys may dip into the upper 30s. Patchy dense fog is likely, so use caution if you happen to travel early Monday morning. Otherwise, Labor Day looks great with mostly sunny skies and highs in the mid to upper 70s. A few spots could hit 80 degrees.

Another round of isolated afternoon showers develops, once again dodging those quick roll over showers. Highs are in the […]

Vermont’s Tibetan, Nepalese communities grieve after flooding
BURLINGTON, Vt. (WCAX) - Flooding along the Nepal-Tibet border has left Vermont’s Tibetan and Nepalese communities grieving. Tuka Pradhan was born in Nepal and moved to the U.S. with her family when she was 14. Since then, they have served traditional Nepalese meals in Burlington and Shelburne at the family-owned Namaste Kitchen Express.

Rain moves in late tonight – steadiest over Southern VT
Tuesday: The day starts with morning lows in the 50s and cloudy skies. Steady rain will be falling over Southern VT/NH for the early morning hours, so some puddling and ponding is possible on the roadways. Once that steady swath clears out of Southern locations its spotty to scattered showers that we are dodging throughout […]
