Rock County Medical Examiner identified woman who was killed last week in Janesville

JANESVILLE, Wis. -- The Rock County Medical Examiner's Department released the name of the individual who was discovered dead near the 1400 block of Afton Road, on April 17 in the City of Janesville. The incident was reported at or around 12:46 p.m.

The victim has been identified as 22-year-old Kiersten Hansen from Janesville.

An autopsy was completed on April 19, 2024 and preliminary results confirm that Hansen died from gunshot wounds.

The death remains under investigation by the City of Janesville Police Department and the Rock County Medical Examiner's Department.

Police say the suspect is 23-year-old Logan Barclay of Janesville.

Barclay was arrested and charged with first-degree intentional homicide.

Police say he had no past criminal history in Wisconsin. He and Hansen were in a previous relationship and shared a child.
