MARQUETTE TOWNSHIP, Mich. (WLUC) - On Sunday, Upper Peninsula chefs shared their recipes at the third annual BBQ Showcase at Marquette Township’s Barrel + Beam. The American Culinary Federation Upper Michigan Chapter hosts the event to showcase their skills. Attendee Scott Alan and his family celebrated Father’s Day over barbeque. Experimental Aviation Association offers children free plane rides as part of their Young Eagles program
GWINN, Mich. (WLUC) - An opportunity for kids to explore aviation took place on Saturday morning. The Experimental Aviation Association (EAA) came to Sawyer International Airport in Gwinn to give children free airplane rides. The event is a part of their Young Eagles Program which has flown over 2.3 million kids. EAA Chapter 850 Young Eagles Coordinator Bruce Finn said that this is not the only opportunity for local youth who are interested in aviation.
