Small fire breaks out at East Bay mobile sauna
A small fire broke out inside the mobile sauna parked at Traverse City State Park along US-31 on Thursday evening. “It looks like there was a board that was too close to the stove,” said Dan Sarya, owner of MI Sauna. “It got too hot and it started to smolder and when we walked away we didn’t notice it.”
Two people await charges after police suspect them of several violations
State police say two people are in the Grand Traverse County Jail after being arrested for several violations. On Wednesday night troopers from the Traverse City post stopped a car for an equipment moving violation in Blair Township. They say the driver of that car, a 45 year old Kingsley man not only had two civil warrants for his arrest over child support but his car didn’t have a registration plate or insurance. The above photo is what police say they found on the passenger in the car-a 41 year old woman from Kingsley.
Police seek new clues in 1989 cold case murder of mother of 5
GRAND TRAVERSE COUNTY, MI – Police are renewing their efforts to solve a cold case murder of a mother of five who died 35 years ago. The body of homicide victim Linda Marie Meteer, 41, of the Traverse City area, was found during the late afternoon of Thursday, April 27, 1989, police said.
