Lake Ontario has received a new designation and with it added protections and emphasis on its historic and cultural resources. The Lake Ontario National Marine Sanctuary was announced June 5 during the National Marine Sanctuary Foundation’s Capitol Hill Ocean Week. Military, Veterans Offered Free Tickets to Sahlen's Six Hours of the Glen at WGI
WATKINS GLEN, NY (WENY) -- People serving in the military, as well as veterans are invited to attend a race at Watkins Glen International next weekend. A military and veterans appreciation event will be held at WGI on Sunday, June 23rd for the Sahlen's Six Hours of the Glen race. The appreciation event will be hosted in the Lot 5 parking area at the race track, from 8AM to 3PM. All military personnel and veterans, along with one guest, will be admitted free of charge.
