    IMPD: Person injured in shooting near Long’s Bakery on near west side

    INDIANAPOLIS — Indianapolis metropolitan police are investigating after a person was shot and injured at a gas station near Long’s Bakery on the city’s near west side Tuesday evening.

    Officers with the Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department were called around 4:59 p.m. to the 2400 block of W. 16th Street, the listed address for an Amoco gas station adjacent to Long’s Bakery, in response to a person shot.

    IMPD said officers arrived and found an individual suffering from at least one gunshot wound. The victim was last reported to be “awake and breathing,” according to IMPD.

    According to IMPD’s online system, officers were initially called to 1453 N. Tremont Street to investigate a potential shooting in the area before the address was later updated to W. 16th Street.

    No other information was immediately available.
