Longtime journalist Gregg Doyel of the Indy Star is in the midst of serving a two-week suspension for the inappropriate comment he directed toward Caitlin Clark earlier this year, according to Bob Kravitz of Indianapolis Monthly.

Doyel is also barred from covering Indiana Fever games in person this summer.

Doyel found himself in hot water after an awkward interaction with Clark at her introductory press conference on April 17.

"Start doing it to me and we'll get along just fine," Doyel said of the heart-hand motion Clark does to her family after every game.

Fans are happy to see Doyel is receiving punishment for this inappropriate comments, but many wish the punishment was more severe.

"I’m sorry - suspended for 2 weeks?? That’s some BS!!! Fired him from reporting ANY Indiana games," one wrote.

"2 weeks is nothing @GreggDoyelStar should have been fired , years ago already!" another added.

"Good he’s a creep and very unprofessional… he would never talked to a Pacers player or Colts player like that," another said.

Clark and the Fever will take the court for another preseason matchup against the Atlanta Dream on Thursday night.
