The New York Knicks escaped Game 1 of their first-round series against the Indiana Pacers. Indiana found themselves leading for a large portion of the game, but a second-half swing from New York was deemed too much to handle for the Pacers.

There was one play in particular that enraged NBA fans across social media. A kick ball violation against Pacers' guard Aaron Nesmith was called with 52 seconds left in the game, proving to be a crucial mistake for the Pacers.

An NBA crew chief was asked about the kickball violation and gave insight into the call. Zach Zarba spoke on the play on the floor, as well as the review after the game. He admits that upon reviewing the play, a legal play was made and the game should have played on after the Nesmith kick ball.

One of the major questions swirling the internet was if the Pacers could have or should have challenged the call. They weren't allowed to place a challenge on that call, given it's not a changable action on the floor.
