    14-year-old girl, woman dead after crash on I-495 in Prince George’s County

    PRINCE GEORGE’S COUNTY, Md. ( DC News Now ) — Maryland State Police (MSP) said the driver of a car and a teenage passenger died after a crash on the Outer Loop of the Capital Beltway Tuesday afternoon.

    Three other people were hurt in the wreck on Interstate 495 at the exit to Interstate 95. Medics took them to the hospital.

    MSP said Loren Jones, 14, of Hyattsville, Md. died at the site of the crash. Dorothy Skinner, 74, of Beltsville, Md., who was driving, died at University of Maryland Capital Regional Medical Center.

    State troopers received word of the incident shortly after 12:30 p.m. Investigators said Skinner and her passengers were heading westbound when the car left the roadway and crashed into a wooded area.

    The westbound lanes of I-495 were closed for more than two hours for the investigation. Maryland State Police still was trying to determine the circumstances leading up to the crash.
