Massachusetts man wins $1 million on $5 instant ticket

HYANNIS, Mass. (WWLP) – A man from Hyannis is the winner of a $1 million prize in the Massachusetts State Lottery’s “$1,000,000 Monopoly Doubler” $5 instant ticket game.

According to the Massachusetts Lottery, Josiorme Da Silva of Hyannis chose the cash option and a one-time payment of $650,000, before taxes. Da Silva said that he plans on buying a new work van, investing in his company, and taking a vacation with his winnings.

The ticket was purchased at West Main Gas and Diesel in Hyannis and will receive a $10,000 bonus for the sale of the ticket.
