A spokesperson said deputies responded around 3 a.m. to a fire in the 6000 block of Alabama Highway 172. Upon arrival, deputies learned that a person was believed to be in the home, but FCSO said the house was fully involved and no one was able to enter.

The sheriff’s office said deputies were able to locate Williams, who died during the fire, after it was put out. According to authorities, William’s wife was also in the house at the time of the fire but was able to make it out of the house.

FCSO said the Alabama Fire Marshall’s Office is investigating the fire at this time. No foul play is suspected at this time.
