Ligonier Valley warms up, tops Riverside in 1st WPIAL home playoff game
Ligonier Valley started slowly in its first WPIAL home football playoff game. But, as longtime Rams coach Roger Beitel says, like Novocaine, if you give it time, it will work. West Allegheny outlasts Gateway in WPIAL playoff thriller, bringing Don Holl’s coaching career to a close
Two of the best football coaches in the WPIAL met for the final time on Friday night, and their teams delivered a game worthy of their impeccable resumes. With Bob Palko and the West Allegheny Indians hosting Don Holl and the Gateway Gators at Joe P. DeMichela Stadium for a WPIAL Class 5A first-round playoff showdown, the stakes were even higher than normal. Of course, this was a win-or-go-home game for both teams — but for Holl and Gateway, it was more than that.

Tyshawn Robinson, Kemon Spell lead McKeesport to convincing win over Blackhawk
