In February 2023, state police responded to a call about a reported attempted hammer attack. It was then that troopers determined Baglieri tried to hit a co-worker with a hammer and fled the area once law enforcement arrived.

A trooper pulled Baglieri over about a half-mile away but was allegedly attacked. During the altercation, police say Baglieri attempted to strangle the Trooper and take his gun from the holster. A passing driver helped the trooper get Baglieri into custody. A claw hammer was later found in Baglieri’s car.
