Abandoned vehicle reportedly connected to Houston killing found locally

BEAUMONT — An abandoned vehicle in Beaumont with a deceased male inside is reportedly linked to a Houston homicide.

The Houston Police Department contacted the Beaumont Police Department at 11:40 a.m. Tuesday in reference to checking the area of the 2500 block of I-10 east for an abandoned vehicle that was believed to have been used in a killing in Houston on Sunday.

When officers arrived, they located the vehicle and found a deceased man inside, according to information from BPD.

Houston PD Detectives will work the case in conjunction with BPD detectives. At this time, the person inside the vehicle is believed to be the person of interest in HPD’s homicide. The investigation is ongoing.

BPD offered thanks to the businesses in this area as surveillance video has been instrumental in putting the pieces together in the investigation.
