Body found near Asheville High School; police are investigating
ASHEVILLE - Police are investigating a body that was found May 9 on a sidewalk near 285 McDowell St., close to Asheville High School's campus. Asheville Police Department officers responded to reports of a possible dead body at 8 a.m. that morning, said spokesperson Rick Rice. Asheville Fire Department, the responding emergency medical services agency, confirmed the individual was dead, he said.
