Authorities identify pedestrian killed along Highway 29
LAKE COUNTY, Calif. — The Lake County Sheriff’s Office has identified a woman who was struck and killed by a vehicle along Highway 29 near Middletown last week. Susan Alice Johnson-Cline, 57, died at the scene of the crash, which occurred shortly after 6:15 p.m. Friday on southbound Highway 29, south of Central Park Road, as Lake County News has reported.

Trailer Destroyed in Fire at Old Concrete Plant in Cloverdale
Arson may be the cause of a fire that destroyed a single-wide trailer in Cloverdale. The fire was reported early Sunday morning coming from the former concrete plant on Berti Lane. Firefighters arrived and saw a trailer was engulfed in flames. They put it out in about 10 minutes but the trailer, which was a former office building, had collapsed. No injuries were reported. Cloverdale Fire Protection District Captain Roger Fletcher suspects arson because there was no gas or electricity operating on the plant, which had been shut down about 15 years ago. He also noted multiple holes in the fence around the property. The investigation is ongoing.
