    Hopewell woman arrested, charged in connection to woman stabbed in face

    HOPEWELL, Va. (WRIC) — A Hopewell woman has been arrested and charged in connection to an incident in which another woman was stabbed in the face several times in the city.

    On Thursday, May 2, at around 1:20 a.m., officers with the Hopewell Police Department responded to Southside Medical Center, located on the 200 block of Medical Park Boulevard in Petersburg, for a woman who had arrived with several stab wounds on her face.

    According to police, further investigation revealed that the stabbing occurred on the 1900 block of Warren Avenue in the city of Hopewell.

    The victim’s injuries are not considered life-threatening, according to officials.

    The suspect, identified as 32-year-old Ashley Nicole Harris of Hopewell, was taken into custody without incident. According to police, she has been charged with malicious wounding and obstruction of justice. She is being held in jail without bond.
