    Hot and Humid Sunday. Strong to severe storms arrive Sunday night through Memorial Day

    SEC Baseball Tournament : Sunday will be a drier and hotter day with temperatures in the lower 90s, along with a slight chance for a brief passing shower or storm.

    There will be a break in the storms on Sunday, and it will become hotter as an area of high pressure in the Gulf of Mexico nudges north! It will be partly cloudy with only a slight chance for a stray shower. High temperatures will be in the lower 90s.

    We are Weather Aware Sunday night through Memorial Day due to the potential for two rounds of strong to severe storms. For late Sunday night into early Monday, SPC has issued a Level 2/5 Slight Risk for North Alabama, and a Level 1/5 Marginal Risk for gusty winds, hail, and the possibility for a few tornadoes as a line of storms pushes from northwest to southeast.

    On Monday, a cold front will move across Alabama setting off a second round of scattered storms mainly during the afternoon, and a few could be strong to severe. SPC has issued a level 2/5 for much of Alabama due to the threat for damaging wind and large hail. High temperatures will be in the upper 80s.

    Next Week’s Outlook : High pressure will build across the Southeast U.S. on Tuesday through Friday. Each day will be warm with low humidity and plenty of sunshine. Daily high temperatures will be in the lower to middle 80s.
