The former Bob’s Appliance location is just southeast of the Sunset interchange with Wesleyan Boulevard. Chris Thrift Store’s items for sale include antiques, clothes, kitchen items and furniture. McNeil on Wednesdays also offers discounts for senior citizens. McNeil, 74, before opening for another day of business the morning of Aug. 29, said in an interview that she has a whole lot of energy. “You’ve got to keep busy,” McNeil said. “You can’t sit down. You’ve got to move.” McNeil also said that she takes vitamins to help keep her moving. “So, I’m good,” McNeil said. McNeil said that she liked her previous location downtown but that not a lot of people were coming in to browse and shop. McNeil’s previous location also was much smaller than the relocated one. A place to wash all of your cares away
Nestled amongst the trees along the banks of Blounts Creek sits this gorgeous 3,200-square-foot custom-built home by master builder Merle Moore. Located in the Bay Harbor community, it offers the perfect mix of peace and tranquility. “The home was intentionally tilted at an angle so so the bedroom, sunroom, and kitchen would face the water, all with great views,” said Gerri McKinley, listing agent with Coldwell Sea Coast Advantage. “The owners have enjoyed the home so much over the years. They said they literally lived on the creek and watched as their children and grandchildren enjoyed fishing, skiing, and boating. But due to some ongoing health issues and the desire to be closer to family, they tearfully have placed the home on the market.”
